Our live's are guided by our ideas, and the exploration thereof can help us better understand ourselves and the world. From such an exploration we can shape a narrative to live by that can properly deal with the complexities of life. This type of examination is conducive to the aims of waking up to a more expansive version of ourselves, liberating ourselves from unnecessary suffering, maximizing our wellbeing, and developing a character of virtuous excellence.
Though we will give primary attention to literature within the yoga and Buddhist traditions, we will not limit our explorations there. We will avail ourselves to the overabundant ideas from around the world to assist us in our aim. To limit ourselves would be an unnecessary restriction on our journey to freedom and wellbeing.
Once a month we read and discuss a text relative to the objectives stated above. The discussion is held on the last Saturday of each month.
Titles we've read and discussed thus far:
“Mans Search for Meaning” by Victor Frankl
"Faith" by Sharon Salzberg
"Falling Upward" by Richard Rohr
"The Way to Love" by Anthony de Mello
