The purpose of an asana(posture) practice is to care for the body in order to enhance its functioning in support of the overall aim of liberation from unnecessary suffering.
The practice is designed to promote mind/body integration as well as improve physical functioning and general wellbeing. Students are guided through a series of poses to encourage a deepening of awareness of the body, breath and mind.
Flow practice: Poses are sequenced in a fashion to cultivate strength, suppleness, flexibility and balance in order to facilitate ease in the body. Students are encouraged to gracefully flow from one pose to the next while holding poses long enough to facilitate spaciousness, awareness and presence. Proper alignment is encouraged in order to enhance the flow of vital energy (prāna) and to mitigate injury.
Classes offered through Square One Yoga Mondays: 4:30-5:45pm (PST)
